Friendly knowledgeable mechanics... Outstanding automotive honestly

I brought my dodge charger here after having problems with my engine, turns out I needed a new engine due to the electrode on one of my spark plugs breaking off and going into the engine. As you can imagine I was highly pissed off and knew this was going to cost me an arm and a leg and then another arm. I was lucky enough to be able to talk to Wayne (the owner) about my situation. He was very professional and understood what I was going through. He kept me well informed of what was going on with my car from start to finish. If Wayne was not around then Stu would also help me out and answer any questions I had. After I got my car back the check engine light came back on within two days. I called them and talked to Stu and without hesitation he tells me to bring my car back. They looked at it and reset the check engine light. Then it happened again a couple more times and they looked at it and determined that my computer might need to be reprogrammed. Turns out that after the last time they reset the check engine light it did not come back on and my car has been running great ever since. I have complete confidence in Wayne and his team at Carlsbad Auto Service. They are professional, friendly and make you feel like part of their family. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. My only reason for not giving it five stars is they don't give a military discount. I will say that Wayne did work with me because he knew I was military and I was having a lot of work done to my car so he gave me a discount.

I originally came here to get my car smogged but have since stayed because they were very nice, helpful, and did not pressure me for services etc.

My entire family has been using Carlsbad Auto for years. They are always so helpful and courteous and I never feel intimidated bringing my car in for service because I know they will not take advantage of me. The prices are fair and the always get it right the first time they fix it. My car is over 15 years old but they have kept it running like a champ. This is the way a business should be run!

Very happy with my services here! I had to get my car smogged and get an oil change and they took TWO coupons! :) LOVE THAT! Any way to save me money makes me overjoyed :)Greg is super nice and friendly, and I trust that they are doing a phenomenal job! They definitely care about your repeat business and show that they appreciate you, and I like that! Building a client list by being polite is the way to go!I can't comment much on car stuff because I know NOTHING, but I trust they are taking care of my little car! They even checked what my 60,000 mile check up entailed for me! I'll keep coming back!

I have been bringing both of my cars here for the past couple of years and I'll never go anywhere else! The men who work here are honest, genuine people. They treat their customers exceptionally well and will go out of their way to find parts, price match and arrange service around the needs of the customers. I feel like I struck gold with this place! It's always been so stressful for me to bring my cars to the dealership because they always find something to nickel and dime me for.... but not here! They've never done that to me and are completely honest about what I should "keep an eye on" or what major service I should plan on looking forward to next. Highly recommend!!

I drive a Nissan pickup truck that my dad bought new in 1992. At this point, every time something breaks I have to decide whether or not it is worth it to fix the problem (dead battery = yes), if I can live with what's broken (wiper fluid pump dead = yes), or if it's time to junk old Blue (so far, no!).This past week, the starter -- which has been slowly but surely fading over the past 3 years -- finally gave out. I called Carlsbad Auto Service before their posted hours, expecting a machine. But somebody was there! I explained my problem and he told me to bring it on in. So I had my poor old truck towed to the shop and they took care of me very quickly, even driving me back to work as a courtesy. Later in the day, they called to inform me that while replacing my starter, they happened to notice that some U-joints were about ready to give. Here's an approximation of the conversation we had:Stu: Good news - we replaced your starter no problem, and it's working great.Me: Awesome, so I can come pick it up now?Stu: Well, there's also some bad news. Have you noticed that loud squeaking sound?Me: Yeah, I just assumed it was a loose belt or something.Stu: No, that's you drive shaft getting ready to drop onto the street.Me: Huh...They suggested that it would be a poor decision to try to drive it the 30 miles home, and having recently experienced the joy of breaking down along the lonesome stretch of highway between Oceanside and San Clemente (the aforementioned battery issue, a result of not realizing I was out of gas before the last freeway exit), I wasn't keen on testing my luck. But they were able to recommend a rental car agency that would give me a very reasonable discounted "shop rate."Old Blue was ready before noon the next day and the cost was well below the "worth it" threshold I mentioned earlier. He's running like a champ now, with no trace of the loud, annoying squeaking that has plagued us both for the past 2 years or so. This auto shop is very quick, efficient and transparent, and if (ok, when) Blue ever has any more problems while I'm in North County, Carlsbad Auto Service is the shop I will get him towed to. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is that the price was a little steep. But they're up-front about the cost and at no point did I feel like they were trying to swindle me, which is everyone's #1 fear in auto repair. To me it was worth the extra money to get my truck fixed and back on the road as soon as possible.

My only interaction with CBad Auto is for smog certification, so this review is limited that service. I have brought each of the family 4 cars (Fords, Benz, BMW) to CBad minimally twice each and consistently have been in and out in 30 minutes with certified cars and no upselling. $38.20 out the door including certificate !As a qualifier - my cars are maintained, not falling apart, and as such my expectation is they would pass. If your car is sketchy - as the saying goes your mileage may vary.I recommend you get your car smogged at CBad Auto if it should be a slam-dunk !Call ahead and make an appointment.

Found these guys in a local "coupon clipper" and what a fabulous business. I was really impressed from my brief phone conversation right through the greeting I received when I arrived for my smog appointment. Told them I would go for a walk while they worked on my vehicle but didn't get far at all because my cell phone rang and my car was done! Great service, with no upselling, hidden charges or all the other BS that happens way too often when you need something simple done! I would ask where have they been all my life but since they've been around since 1985 I guess I am the one that's been "lost"..........Thanks Carlsbad Auto Service, be seeing you for all my future auto service needs.

Wayne and his team are outstanding ! I moved to California over 3 years ago and one if my biggest concerns was finding a good mechanic. I was so glad I found this place. They always take care of me and are honest good people. I have my husband bring his VW here and I always recommend these guys to my friends. If you want you and your car taken care of go here!
