I am an internee at Carlsbad Auto Service under my mentor, Andrew Luna. This is not only a review in my own opinion as well as others opinions about the shop itself but it is also a comparison to surrounding shops in the Carlsbad area. Their website is carlsbadautoservice.com Starting off, my own opinion about Carlsbad Auto Service is all but good things. There are seven people working under the employment of Wayne and Janet Milak. The technicians are Nick, Andrew (alignment specialist), Glen (alignment specialist), Joe (smog check specialist) and Jose (oil change specialist). The two very kind and welcoming service writers are Stu and Greg. Being here for only 3 Weeks I was able to meet and work with just about every one in the shop. All of them are very professional in not only their work but as well as their attitude. Some days are different than others but every day I saw a good attitude towards the customers as well as each other. All of them, except for Jose due to him being new to the shop and not yet getting a chance to take the classes, are ASE certified. What this means is they are all Highly trained professionals and being ASE certified means you are some of the best in the business. They do their work in a quick, professional and kindly manner. The service writers will greet you with a smile as you walk in and ask "What is wrong with my car?" Some other people have also said many good things about the shop as well. A few examples are: "The customer service is great and the service on my car was even better!" - Citysearch. " The service i received since 2004, has always been professional and very satisfactory- since my car was very old I have been well satisfied. The last two are from Yellowpages. The BBB also gives it an A+. "I've gone to these guys for an alignment and smog check. The pricing was very fair and the guys were very friendly. From a customer" On Kudzu they have a 5 star rating and all 18 out of 19 comments are 5 stars. The only one star was due to the shop being fairly busy with work and was not able to get to the customers car in time. There are many auto repair shops in Carlsbad. Carlsbad Auto Service has an over all rating of 5 stars, A-1 Auto Repair has an over all rating of 4 stars, Big-O-Tires has an overall rating of 3 stars, Dragmaster has an overall rating of 3 stars and Autosport Shaws has a 4 star rating. All these ratings are based on the average number stars given by all the websites I researched and are out of 5 stars.

Anytime my family members need a tune-up, smog certification, or repairs, I feel confident that our cars are in good hands. In the past, I felt vulnerable because I don't have a lot of knowledge when I go to a mechanic, but I never feel as if I am taken advantage of and the pricing is always reasonable. I would recommend Carlsbad Auto for any major or minor work that you may need.

My car had something wrong with the engine last week, so we had it towed to there shop over the weekend. They are AWESOME! They kept in contact with us, were honest, talked us through everything they were doing or going to do, and gave us a VERY reasonable and affordable price. Stu is great! I will definitely be taking my car back here when it needs something done.

I walked in on a Saturday morning without an appointment to get a leaky hose fixed. Greg was very friendly and let me know that they were quite busy, but they'd do their best. They had it fixed within a few hours. I appreciated them going out of their way to fit me in their schedule. I will definitely go back again!

I have been going here for 4 years with an older Acura. They have been reasonable, honest and on time. In several cases the final cost has been less than the initial estimate but on the rare occasion something might cost more, I got a call explaining my options. Their communication is great, the car is always ready on time and they even have Saturday hours if needed. I have mostly dealt with Greg and he is fabulous.

Let me start by saying I've only been to this place one, but I do plan on going back whenever my car needs some more work done.Here are some of the things I noticed that made me feel good about the place:1. The number of certificates on the wall. They are definitely certified.2. Member of the BBB since 1986. Checked with the BBB and they've had one issue in three years and it was resolved.3. The number of repeat customers that came in, and the friendly rapport they had with the people that worked there. It seemed like 90% of the people that came in had been going there for years and they knew a lot of them by name. That's a good sign that they're keeping their customers happy.4. The guys working the counter asked a lot of questions about what was wrong with my car and then really explained everything that they were going to do while diagnosing and repairing it. Their estimates were nearly spot on and they did the work well and in a timely manner.5. They checked with me each step of the way before doing any work so I could verify that I wanted it done.Nothing but good things to say about these guys...
