I went here today for a smog check. I found a coupon for a smog check in the penny saver. I originally scheduled my appointment for 1p, but called them and asked if they could make it earlier. They gladly made the appointment for earlier. When I got there, I settled in because I didn't know how long I would be there. Before I was even half way through my salad, they were done. It was fast and friendly!

I used to go to this auto place a couple of years ago when I had an old Jetta. Stu, my favorite mechanic EVER, always took care of me and always gave me reasonable prices and kept my favorite little Jetta running as long as it possibly could. Today, I referred my coworker to Stu and he was excellent! He identified her car's most problematic issues and discussed options and helped her figure out exactly what needed to be done to fix her car in the most cost efficient and practical manner. I would never ever recommend anywhere else and more specifically, if you have the opportunity to be helped by Stu then you have lucked out! A= for Carlsbad Auto Service and A++ for Stu! #teamstu

Friendly knowledgeable mechanics... Outstanding automotive honestly

I brought my dodge charger here after having problems with my engine, turns out I needed a new engine due to the electrode on one of my spark plugs breaking off and going into the engine. As you can imagine I was highly pissed off and knew this was going to cost me an arm and a leg and then another arm. I was lucky enough to be able to talk to Wayne (the owner) about my situation. He was very professional and understood what I was going through. He kept me well informed of what was going on with my car from start to finish. If Wayne was not around then Stu would also help me out and answer any questions I had. After I got my car back the check engine light came back on within two days. I called them and talked to Stu and without hesitation he tells me to bring my car back. They looked at it and reset the check engine light. Then it happened again a couple more times and they looked at it and determined that my computer might need to be reprogrammed. Turns out that after the last time they reset the check engine light it did not come back on and my car has been running great ever since. I have complete confidence in Wayne and his team at Carlsbad Auto Service. They are professional, friendly and make you feel like part of their family. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. My only reason for not giving it five stars is they don't give a military discount. I will say that Wayne did work with me because he knew I was military and I was having a lot of work done to my car so he gave me a discount.

I originally came here to get my car smogged but have since stayed because they were very nice, helpful, and did not pressure me for services etc.
